National Broadband Ireland (NBI) has recently confirmed that over 2,900 properties in the Kilnaleck deployment area, including Kilnaleck, Ballyjamesduff, and Crosskeys, can now access high-speed fibre broadband connection. Additionally, there are approximately 17,000 premises across the county included in the State’s Intervention Area, where NBI will provide minimum speeds of 500 megabits per second to homes, businesses, farms, and schools. Co Cavan is set to benefit from a significant €65M investment under the National Broadband Plan.
Significant progress has been made in other parts of the county, with almost 6,760 premises now able to order high-speed, reliable broadband, with 1,896 connections already established.
Peter Hendrick, Chief Executive Officer of National Broadband Ireland, expressed delight in this development, stating, “We are thrilled to announce that Cavan premises near Kilnaleck can now order high-speed broadband services through the National Broadband Ireland network, providing users with life-changing benefits.”
Furthermore, nearly 6,800 homes, businesses, and farms in Co Cavan can now order high-speed fibre broadband, with approximately 3,700 premises in Cavan town and over 400 in surrounding areas such as Clones included in this coverage.
