Name: Ian Abbott
Job Title: Store Manager
How long have you been with King Communications?
I joined King Communications in May 2021, as a sales consultant in a previous store in Mullingar and was then promoted to Manager in the Roscommon store in November and then I moved to be the manager in Mullingar.
What does our job role entail, day to day?
Day to day running of the store would include customer care issues, and a big part of our role here is KPI’s and selling. So each day we set ourselves a target of our main KPI’s and we sit down in the morning and have a chat and decide, basically it’s go, go, go all the time but it is an enjoyable achievement.
Have you found the career progression opportunities with Kings beneficial?
Absolutely, I think the main thing is if you can sell and have a good attitude towards the business and the company, they will see that and progress you. There is massive room for progression. Becoming manager was a great achievement for myself and I’m excited to have the opportunity to continue as long as possible.
Any on-going training or programmes taking place?
At the moment, Vodafone are doing Hi-Digital to assist the older generation and provide help with their devices, if they’ve any problems or any questions. I’m the ambassador for this store and they can come in between 10am and 1pm on a Friday and I’m here to help. That’s something I’m proud of and something I enjoy.
If anyone was looking to join Kings, why should they consider?
From higher management up, Kings is a fun and friendly atmosphere to work in. There is opportunity to grow, if you are interested in sales, good at targets and exceeding them, you’ll have no problem with progressing in the company, your name will shine.
